M3EP: A Truly Multinational Experience.

Bringing together more than 20 different nationalities from around the world, the M3EP programme is truly a multinational experience. This national and cultural diversity not only represents a hallmark for the programme, it has also proven to be a particular feature that we benefit greatly from in class.

But M3EP is so much more than what goes on in class. Equally important is the social side, having fun and making new and lifelong friendships – creating what we refer to as the M3EP identity and community.

At Department of Food and Resource Economics, University of Copenhagen, as well as at the other M3EP partner universities (University of Warsaw, Charles University, University of Milan, Heidelberg University), we do our best to support this. An example is our study start welcome event, where the sun always shines (picture below). Another example is the M3EP football team, which the first cohort of M3EP students established last year completely on their own – a legacy that the second cohort has picked up and is currently carrying forward. Team pictures below from last week’s game, with our national stadium in the background.

Notice the unique football jerseys designed by students from the first cohort. The climate crisis is of course one of the big environmental challenges that we frequently address in the M3EP programme, and now our football team is even wearing the climate stripes!

Despite a narrow 0-2 loss, you might also notice the big smiles on all the players – probably due to the enthusiastic and ever supportive fans on the sideline. And as one of the players mentioned; If you’re having fun, you have already won 🙂
